Perancangan Gedung Wisma Kolaborasi Kota Medan
Designing of The Collaborative Office Building in Medan City
Abstract
Medan City, as a commercial and business center in the Sumatra region, holds high
investment potential and therefore requires facilities that can support the growth of
a modern and collaborative work ecosystem. In response to this need, the Medan
City Government has initiated the development of the Collaborative Office
Building, located at Teuku Cik Ditiro Street I C/49, Madras Hulu Subdistrict,
Medan Polonia District. This building is envisioned as an innovative workspace that
integrates multiple functions within a single complex, including co-working spaces,
government office areas, multipurpose rooms, retail/F&B spaces, and inclusive
green open areas to foster social interaction in an urban context. As part of the city’s
effort to boost regional economic growth and enhance competitiveness, the
designing of this building emphasizes green building principles, user comfort, and
universal accessibility. The design process adheres to the City Planning Regulation
(KRK), supported by site surveys, observations, literature reviews, and comparative
studies of similar projects. These data were analyzed to formulate a design concept
that is modern, functional, and environmentally responsible. The project scope
includes the preparation of a Detail Engineering Design (DED) within a 110-
calendar-day period. It is expected that the Wisma Kolaborasi Building will serve
as a symbol of progress and cross-sector collaboration, while strengthening
Medan’s role as a modern, investment-friendly, and sustainable business hub.
