Evaluasi Kinerja Penyuluh Pertanian Berbasis Persepsi Petani (Kasus : Budidaya Usahatani Padi Sawah, Desa Rawang Baru, Kecamatan Rawang Panca Arga, Kabupaten Asahan)

Abstract

Agricultural extension officers have a strategic role in increasing productivity and the success of rice cultivation through providing information, assistance, and motivation to farmers. This study aims to evaluate the performance of agricultural extension workers based on farmers' perceptions in Desa Rawang Baru , Kecamatan Rawang Panca Arga, Kabupaten Asahan. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive approach with the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. Data collected through interviews and questionnaires to 40 farmers selected by purposive sampling. The results showed that agricultural extension in Desa Rawang Baru has been running well, especially in the aspects of delivering technical information, farming assistance, and strengthening farmer groups. However, some limitations are still found in terms of the utilization of modern technology and extension facilities. Evaluation of context, input, process, and product variables showed that the majority of farmers are satisfied with the performance of extension workers, especially in the aspects of assistance and information provision. However, improvements in the quality of extension services are still needed, especially in access to more advanced agricultural technologies. Therefore, strategies to increase the capacity of extension workers and more effective policy support are needed to ensure the sustainability of agricultural extension programs.
