Model Komunikasi Pariwisata Pentahelix Berbasis Fully Functioning Society Theory di Kabupaten Nias Selatan

Abstract

This research identifies alternatives for accelerating tourism development in South Nias Regency through tourism communication studies. The research conducted will produce a tourism communication model that can be implemented by the Culture, Tourism, and Youth Sports Office of South Nias Regency, which is the Regional Apparatus Organization responsible for tourism, in collaboration with their stakeholders to enhance tourism in the regency. This study involved 13 representatives from the elements of penthahelix tourism, including government, academics, business, community, and media representatives. The approach used in this research is qualitative, employing a case study method. The results indicate that the tourism communication model best suited for accelerating tourism development in South Nias Regency is one based on the Fully Functioning Society Theory. This model explains that the Culture, Tourism, and Youth Sports Office of South Nias Regency, as a communicator, must synergize and collaborate with their stakeholders and actively receive feedback from them collectively. This is crucial in tourism communication to ensure mutual understanding, thereby fostering a strong relationship between communicator and communicant and enhancing the communication process.
