dc.description.abstract | PT. XYZ is a company engaged in the production of Crude Palm Oil (CPO). In its operations, the company utilizes various types of machinery, one of which is the screw press machine. Based on maintenance data from April 2024 to March 2025, the screw press machine recorded the highest breakdown time compared to other machines. This machine operates with two units simultaneously without any backup unit. Due to continuous use, the screw press machine experiences frequent breakdowns and a decline in effectiveness. This study was conducted to identify the causes of low effectiveness. The methods used include Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Overall Resource Effectiveness (ORE), Six Big Losses, fishbone diagram, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Cognitive Reliability and Error Analysis Method (CREAM), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR). The results showed that the OEE values for screw press machines I and II were 52.21% and 53.19%, respectively. The ORE values for screw press machines I and II were 36.74% and 37.44%, respectively. According to the Pareto diagram of the Six Big Losses, the primary causes of low effectiveness were Equipment Failure and Reduced Speed. FMEA identified the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) as the lack of operator focus with a value of 168 for Equipment Failure, and improper maintenance scheduling with a value of 196 for Reduced Speed. CREAM analysis identified ensuring visual inspection of press cake conditions—whether oily or high broken nut content—as the most high-risk activity,
with an adjusted CFP of 2.437. The planned maintenance schedule is once every two days. | en_US |
