The Influence Of Career Development And Work Environment On Employee Job Satisfaction Of Generation Z Administrative Staff Of Finance Companies In Medan Baru District
Abstract
In recent years, the increasing number of Generation Z employees entering the workforce has presented new challenges for companies, particularly in maintaining their job satisfaction. Many companies, including those in the financial sector, are facing issues such as high turnover rates and job dissatisfaction among young administrative staff. This highlights the importance of implementing strategies related to career development and the creation of a conducive work environment. This study aims to examine the influence of career development and work environment on the job satisfaction of Generation Z employees working as administrative staff in finance companies in the Medan Baru District. A quantitative approach was employed, involving 97 respondents selected using purposive sampling, as the population is considered infinite and its exact number is unknown. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS software. The analysis method applied was multiple linear regression. The results indicate that career development has a positive and significant partial effect on job satisfaction, and work environment also has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Simultaneously, career development and work environment significantly influence the job satisfaction of Generation Z employees. These findings emphasize the importance for companies to pay attention to career development and the quality of the work environment in improving the job satisfaction of Generation Z administrative staff in finance companies located in the Medan Baru District
