Hypertension is a fairly serious disease in the world and in Indonesia. WHO shows that in 2019 there are around 22% of people living with hypertension in the world. Hypertension cases in Indonesia experience a rapid increase in the number of cases every year. Based on Basic Health Research data for 2018, hypertension cases in Indonesia have increased quite rapidly. Similar to North Sumatra, cases of hypertension tend to increase every year which is a serious concern. This study aims to determine the relationship between physical activity and stress levels with the incidence of hypertension at the Pasar Gambir Health Center Tebing Tinggi City. This research is an analytical quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The sample is 88 elderly respondents who are willing to be respondents. The results of the study were data collected through interviews using a questionnaire and analyzed univariately and bivariately using the chi-square statistical test. The results of the proportion of hypertension incidents were 76.1%. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between the variables of physical activity and stress levels (0.001) with the incidence of hypertension. The suggestion from this study is for patients who have been exposed to hypertension to always pay attention to a healthy lifestyle and for those who have risk factors for developing hypertension to continue to apply precautions and protect yourself from things that can cause hypertension.en_US
