dc.description.abstract | Bamboo plants are one of the forest resources that can be used and are quite familiar in the community. The conventional use of bamboo includes the agriculture, livestock, fisheries, household appliances, simple house construction, bridges in rural areas, and handicrafts. The aim of this research is to identify types of bamboo, the distribution of bamboo and the results of processed products from bamboo in Panei, Raya and Dolok Panribuan Districts, Simalungun Regency. This research is also expected to provide information about the types of bamboo and the use of bamboo found in Panei, Raya and Dolok Panribuan Districts, Simalungun Regency. This research carried out in November 2022 - Completed. The method used in this research is a descriptive method. There are 3 types of bamboo spread across Panei, Raya and Dolok Panribuan Districts, Simalungun Regency, namely: Tali/Apus Bamboo (Gigantochloa apus), Betung Bamboo (Dendrocalamus asper), and Talang/Lemang Bamboo (Schizostachyum brachycladum). The results of the supervised classification of bamboo land have an area of 31.767,90 ha or 7.24% of the total area of Simalungun Regency. The types of processed bamboo products in Panei, Raya, Dolok Panribuan District, Simalungun Regency consist of baskets, chicken coops, farming pcak, tepas, building poles, and whole bamboo. The government's role is to be more active in educating the public to increase public awareness about the benefits of bamboo and also to increase the economic value of bamboo. | en_US |
