dc.description.abstractRIAN GUNAWAN SIMANJUNTAK. Analysis of Shallot Farming and Marketing in Silalahi Village, Silahisabungan District, Dairi Regency (Thesis under the guidance of Thomson Sebayang as Supervisor and Mrs. Siti Khadijah H. Nasution as Examiner). Shallots are one of the vegetable commodities that have an important meaning for the community, both in terms of their high economic value and nutritional content. Silahisabungan District is a center for shallot production in Dairi Regency (BPS, 2024). As a center for shallot production, Silahisabungan District is expected to be able to increase the amount of shallot production to meet consumption in Dairi Regency through certain marketing channels that will affect the amount of income of traders and farmers. This study aims to analyze shallot farming and marketing in Silahisabungan District, Dairi Regency, using descriptive and quantitative analysis. The data used are primary data and secondary data. The results of the study indicate that the level of shallot farming production in Silahisabungan District is relatively low. Production factors that have a significant effect on production are land area and seeds, while those that do not have a significant effect are fertilizer, pesticides, and labor. Shallot farming is a profitable and feasible farming activity. Shallot marketing channels in Silahisabungan District, Dairi Regency are efficient.en_US
