Skrining Resisten pada Gulma Jajagoan (Echinochloa crus-galli) terhadap Herbisida Glifosat dan Paraquat dari Beberapa Persawahan di Kabupaten Deli Serdang
Resistance Screening of Barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli) Against Glyphosate and Paraquat Herbicides from Several Rice Fields in Deli Serdang Regency
Abstract
The Echinochloa crus-galli weed is one of the main weeds in rice fields that
has great potential in reducing rice productivity due to competition for water,
nutrients, and light. Intensive and repeated use of herbicides over a long period of
time can cause resistance in these weeds. This study aims to detect the population
of E. crus-galli weeds resistant to glyphosate and paraquat herbicides from several
rice fields in Deli Serdang Regency. This study was conducted at the Biotechnology
Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, USU, Medan, in May to June 2024 by
taking weed samples at rice field locations in Deli Serdang Regency. The study used
the categorization of resistant, moderate resistant, and sensitive based on the dose
of Glyphosate 1080 g a.i./ha and Paraquat 200 g a.i./ha with a spray volume of 400
L/ha. The treatments tested were Glyphosate: 2.7 g a.i./L and Paraquat: 0.5 g a.i./L.
Each population was sown into a petri dish as many as 50 seeds in each petri dish
with 4 replications for each dose. The results showed that E. crus-galli weeds
sensitive to glyphosate based on the dose category of 2.7 g a.i./L were spread in 4
locations, moderate glyphosate resistant were spread in 16 locations, but no
locations became resistant in rice fields in Deli Serdang Regency while the test
results with paraquat dose of 0.5 g a.i./L showed that E. crus-galli weeds sensitive
to paraquat were spread in 9 locations, moderate paraquat resistant were spread
in 11 locations, but no locations became resistant in rice fields in Deli Serdang
Regency.
