    Abstract
The underlying issue of this study is how communities with different beliefs can interact harmoniously in their daily lives, particularly between the Parmalim community as a minority and the non-Parmalim community as the majority. Despite differences in religion and belief, the people of Hutatinggi continue to uphold strong Batak cultural values, especially the Dalihan na tolu principle, in establishing their social relationships. This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The collected data were analyzed inductively to describe the existing patterns of social interaction. The results of the study show that interactions between Parmalim and Non-Parmalim communities in Hutatinggi occur in a relatively harmonious atmosphere. Batak customary law functions as a unifying force that bridges differences in belief. Traditional activities such as weddings, funerals, and cultural festivals are conducted together without regard to religious background. The perceptions of non-Parmalim individuals toward the Parmalim community are generally positive, although a small portion of the population still harbors negative stereotypes. However, no open conflict was found between the two groups. This research concludes that Batak cultural values play a central role in maintaining social tolerance amidst religious diversity. The existence of the Parmalim community in Hutatinggi demonstrates that social harmony can be achieved through respect for local cultural traditions. This study also recommends the preservation of customary practices and the implementation of multicultural education to strengthen tolerance values within the community.
