dc.description.abstract | Porang (Amorphophallus muelleri) is a tuber commodity that has a high economic value and being an export potential commodity, but is still not widely cultivated optimally by farmers. In Desa Berngam, Kota Binjai, although land conditions are favorable, farmers' decision in making to cultivate porang is still influenced by various constraints. This study used a quantitative approach with the binary logistic regression analysis of 30 porang farmers. The results showed that simultaneously all socioeconomic factors influenced the cultivation decision. Partially, just the capital, availability of production facilities, and selling price of fresh porang have significant effects. These factors reflect the importance of support getting the access to capital, production inputs, and price stability in encouraging farmers to develop sustainable porang cultivation. | en_US |
