| dc.description.abstract | The Decanter machine is a device used to separate palm oil from solid and liquid waste in the palm oil processing process. The suboptimal use of Decanter machines often results in operational efficiency losses, such as high downtime and reduced performance. Therefore, the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is crucial for improving the operational efficiency of Decanter machines. This study aims to analyze the implementation of TPM using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method on Decanter machines in the palm oil industry. The results of the study indicate that the OEE value obtained is 21.44%, with an Availability value of 98.36%, Performance Efficiency of 21.70%, and Quality Product reaching 100%. Based on the analysis using Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), the largest failure occurred in the bearing component with a frequency of 11.61%. From the Top Event calculation, the failure probability of the Decanter machine was found to be 0.2254 or 22.54%. Additionally, the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) identified six common types of failures, with the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) on the bearing component with an RPN value of 504, Motor & V-Belt with an RPN value of 210, Pump Grease with an RPN value of 150, Bowl with an RPN value of 70, Screw Conveyor with an RPN value of 60, and Gearbox with an RPN value of 60. This study recommends that the company implement improvements on the components prone to failure, using high-quality materials, enhancing training, and controlling costs to improve machine performance. | en_US |
