Kehidupan Sosial Ekonomi Nelayan di Kampung Seberang Belawan

Abstract

This paper is entitled Socio-economic life of fishermen in Seberang Belawan Village. The purpose of this researcher is to determine the economic conditions of fishermen and the role of housewives in managing their economic situation. The method used in this study is a qualitative method using data collection techniques in the form of participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation which aims to obtain comprehensive results regarding the actual conditions in the field to obtain information about how the socio-economic life of fishermen in Seberang Belawan Village. The results of this study show how fishermen seek an economy, whose income is still lacking in their daily needs in their lives, but some of them choose to seek additional income that can be done, namely housewives who also play an important role in managing and seeking additional income, although not all housewives choose to seek additional income, but there are also those who only manage and take care of the household and do not have additional income.
