Abstract

Archivists have a big influence on the government. At the Medan City Employment Service, archivists are tasked with maintaining archives, including records of activities or events in various forms and media. Therefore, an archivist must have good managerial skills. The purpose of this final assignment is to find out and describe the role of archivists in managing archives as a source of information at the Medan City Employment Service. This research uses a qualitative method with descriptive data collection carried out by taking primary and secondary data sources. The results of this research show that the implementation of the archivist's role in managing archives as a source of information is good, but not yet effective due to limited resources so there are still difficulties in implementing archives.
