Selektivitas dan Efisiensi Alat Tangkap Pukat Cincin (Purse Seine) di Perairan Tanjung Tiram Kabupaten Batubara Provinsi Sumatera Utara

Abstract

ADDINA THOIBA BATUBARA Selectivity and Efficiency of Purse Seine Fishing Gear in Tanjung Tiram Waters, Batubara Regency, North Sumatra Province (Under the guidance of AMANATUL FADHILAH as Chair of the Supervisory Commission and VINDY RINALI MANURUNG and JULIA SYAHRIANI HASIBUAN as Examining Commission). Tanjung Tiram Port, Batubara Regency is a coastal area that has abundant catch potential. This study aims to determine the composition, selectivity and efficiency of purse seine fishing gear in Tanjung Tiram waters, Batubara Regency. Data were collected through catches and interviews with purse seine fishermen. The results showed that the main catch was more dominant than the bycatch, the selectivity of the purse seine fishing gear at a mesh size of 1.7 inches was more blinking, the purse seine fishing gear obtained environmentally friendly catches through interviews conducted, and the efficiency of the purse seine net size was more efficient than the gillnet. This study is expected to provide useful information for fishermen in the use of appropriate nets to obtain reflective results.
