Unsupervised battery charging can pose a risk of overcharging, which can reduce system performance, efficiency, and safety. This study designs and implements an automatic battery charging system equipped with Internet of Things (IoT)-based overcharge protection, with the aim of improving safety and efficiency. The system utilizes an ESP32 microcontroller as a control center, voltage and current sensors (ACS712), and a relay as an automatic circuit breaker actuator. Battery condition data is sent in real-time to the Blynk monitoring application. A 12V 8Ah battery was tested in the automatic protection system. The test results showed that the system successfully disconnected charging when the voltage reached 14.25V, with the charging current decreasing gradually from 2.85A to 0A within 4 hours 25 minutes. In battery charging system II, the voltage increased to 13.82V, with the charging current decreasing gradually from 2.6A to 0.05A within 4 hours 35 minutes. Likewise with battery charging III, the voltage increases to 14.50 with the charging current decreasing gradually from 2.90A, to 0.00A in 4 hours 35 minutes. In this third battery test, it is a charging that uses overcharge where the relay cuts off the current entering the battery when the battery is full.en_US
