Air Conditioner (AC) uses a vapor compression system with four main components, namely compressor, condenser, expansion device, and evaporator. The condenser in the outdoor unit of the split AC functions to continue the heat from the refrigerant to the air using a finned tube. Exposure to sunlight during the day can reduce the performance of the condenser, so the use of shading can affect energy consumption directly or indirectly. The test was carried out for 8 hours with a data collection interval of every 15 minutes. The parameters observed included pressure and temperature at 4 points, namely the compressor outlet, condenser outlet, expansion valve outlet, and evaporator outlet. The test results showed a decrease in the coefficient of performance (COP) of 12.01%, an increase in compressor work of 12.66% and the percentage of error obtained from the AC condenser shading simulation of 2,71% and for those exposed to sunlight of 16,74%
