This study is an experimental study aimed at analyzing the effect of variations in road surface conditions on the wheel balance behavior of light vehicles with Ring 14 rim specifications in the dynamic balancing process. Wheel imbalance is one of the main causes of vibrations in vehicles that can disrupt speed stability, accelerate tire wear, and reduce vehicle operational efficiency. The balancing process is carried out using a LAUNCH KWB-421 type wheel balancer and is equipped with vibration amplitude measurements through a vibration analyzer to obtain balance performance (BP) parameters. Testing is carried out by simulating concrete road conditions and potholes that represent different levels of roughness. The results show that road surface conditions have a significant effect on the amount of compensation mass (lead) needed in the balancing process. Potholes produce higher dynamic imbalances than concrete roads, as indicated by an increase in the vibration amplitude value before balancing and a larger correction mass. The percentage of vibration reduction that occurs on concrete roads is calculated by the balance performance obtained with the results of vibration acceleration of 20%, vibration velocity of 50%, vibration displacement of 61.7%. Then in pothole conditions with vibration acceleration results of 44%, vibration velocity of 17%, vibration displacement of 97%.en_US
