The globalization of urbanization, income, and lifestyle changes have undoubtedly altered the demand for food in so many countries, one of which is Indonesia. These increasing numbers of cities are causing a boost in the population and conversion of agricultural lands to residential areas. It has led to shrinkage in agriculture output and dependence on food importation in North Sumatra. In view of such developments, maintaining price equilibria and local food supply sufficiency has become increasingly difficult. This research tries to conceptualize the framework for an urban agriculture hub with green architecture approach, whose core purpose would be to pluralize regional food production while minimizing logistical distance and spreading the techniques of agribusiness. In addition, the network will act as a hub of knowledge and interaction among the public, farmers, researchers, and policy makers through mutual learning and interest. This research approach includes an environmental impact analysis, archival data compilation, review of the literature available, analysis of green architecture approach and case studies of successful implementations such as that in Vancouver regarding the integration of urban farming into the urban setting. The findings from this study can be expected to provide strategic insight to urban agronomy centers in conformity with the conditions of indigenous Indonesia.en_US
