Fishermen are the main occupation of Indonesian people who live in coastal areas. Fishermen who go to sea at night need sufficient lighting for fishing activities as lighting on the boat. Many small fishermen use lanterns or petromaxes that use fuel oil. The scarcity and high cost of kerosene are one of the major problems. Seawater batteries are batteries with a material composition consisting of an anode (zinc) and a cathode (copper) that produces electrical energy through a reduction-oxidation process between electrons contained in seawater as an energy source with Zinc Oxide (ZnO) contained in the anode and copper oxide (CuO) contained in the cathode. The design of the placement of seawater battery electrodes obtained a voltage of 3.6 V and can produce power of 2.7 watts. By using a 3 watt HPL LED as a load, the first experiment obtained a voltage value of 3.6 V and a power of 2.7 watts with a light intensity value ranging from 750 - 800 lux and starting to dim at 135 minutes, a voltage value of 3.21 and a power of 1.18 watts with a light intensity value ranging from 245 - 250 lux. And in the second experiment, the voltage value of 3.55 V and a power of 2.6 watts with a light intensity value ranging from 720 - 7350 lux and starting to dim at 105 minutes, a voltage value of 3.15 and a power of 1.19 watts with a light intensity value ranging from 235-255 lux.en_US
