The availability of fruit has a positive effect on the orangutan's diet. When fruit is unavailable, orangutans tend to switch to leaves, bark, insects, and shoots as a survival strategy. Cambium is a good alternative food source, especially when primary food sources such as fruit are scarce. The study aims to identify the types of cambium-feeding plants consumed by orangutans and observe how they eat these plants in the Sikundur Research Station area. The research was conducted in Gunung Leuser National Park, specifically at the Sikundur Research Station located in Simpang Kiri District, Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh. The study was conducted from February 2025 to May 2025. The method used was a descriptive method with focal animal sampling technique. Data collection methods included observation, documentation, and identification. The results of the study showed that 11 species belonging to 7 families of cambium-feeding plants were consumed by Sumatran orangutans, and there were 2 feeding behaviors or methods of consuming cambium-feeding plants by orangutans at the Sikundur Research Station.
