    Abstract
In Indonesia, more than 200 species of termites have been found, of which five are the most destructive, namely Coptotermes curvignathus, Schedorhinotermes javanicus, Macrotermes gilvus, Microtermes inspiratus, and Cryptotermes cynocephalus. The weakness of particleboard made from lignocellulose is that it is susceptible to attack by wood destroying insects such as termites. The purpose of this research is to determine the durability of particle boards made from vegetable waste and bamboo against subterranean termites (Coptotermes curvignathus), using the graveyard test method. This test was conducted at the Arboretum of the Faculty of Forestry, University of North Sumatra. A 20 cm long particleboard was planted in the soil and the remaining 5 cm above the soil surface. The test was conducted for one hundred days. The parameters observed included mass loss and visual assessment, the weight loss value of type 1 boards ranged from 21.55%-31.95% while that of type 2 boards ranged from 33.56%-66.23%. The best durability produced in this study on type 1 boards is the board with a strand length of 5 cm and the worst is produced on boards with a strand length of 10 cm. In type 2 boards, the best durability was produced on boards with 8% adhesive concentration and the worst was produced on boards with 2% adhesive concentration. The weight loss of the boards in this study was categorized with very poor durability.
