Kesejahteraan Pelaku UMKM di Kelurahan Padang Bulan Selayang I Kota Medan

Abstract

Padang Bulan Selayang I Village is one of the areas targeted in the formation of new growth centers. The presence of MSMEs in this village plays a very important role in the economy, contributing significantly to the formation of gross domestic product and providing employment. In addition, MSMEs are also known to have a high level of financial flexibility, making them a pillar in the financial system and economic stability. This has resulted in the land in the area changing its function from its primary function as an agricultural and plantation area to now starting to experience changes into several business activities. The existence of Padang Bulan Selayang I Village which is close to the campus has helped the community to improve the economy and is inseparable from consumption to meet the primary and secondary needs of the community around Padang Bulan Selayang I Village. This research method uses a qualitative research method using a descriptive method about the object being studied through writing or spoken words as well as observations that occur in the field. In this study, the researcher took data sources and MSME actors as many as 6 people as the main source and supporting sources were the village government, the micro, small and medium enterprise cooperative service, the head of the neighborhood and students. The problem formulation in this study is how the welfare of MSMEs in Padang Bulan Selayang I Village, Medan City. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the welfare of MSMEs in Padang Bulan Selayang I Village, Medan City. Based on the results of the study, the welfare of MSMEs in Padang Bulan Selayang I Village can be categorized into two groups: (1) MSMEs who experienced a drastic increase in welfare, and (2) MSMEs who experienced a stable increase in welfare. The findings show that community income has increased, with the existence of various MSMEs, such as boarding houses, laundries, printing, cafes, and food stalls. In addition, health conditions, children's education, and access to health services also show significant progress.
