Abstract
This study aims to find out how the personality development of a secretary can
play a role in improving employee performance at PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia
(Persero) Tbk Gatot Subroto Medan Branch Office. In the modern work era, the
secretary is no longer only tasked with carrying out administrative functions, but
also has an important role as a communication liaison, information manager, and
creator of a professional and harmonious work atmosphere. The development of
secretary personality includes interpersonal communication skills, emotion
control, time management, work ethic, and a proactive attitude that have a direct
or indirect impact on the overall performance of the team. The method used in
this study is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through
observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that
secretaries who have a mature and professional personality are able to create a
conducive work environment and support the improvement of employee
performance. PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia supports this through soft skills training,
mentoring programs, and self-development forums. With a well-developed
personality, the secretary not only improves the work effectiveness of the leader,
but also becomes a role model that influences the work culture and overall team
spirit. Therefore, the development of secretary personality is a strategic
investment in strengthening human resources and increasing organizational
productivity.
