Integrasi Alam: Desain Hotel dan Resor dengan Pendekatan Tepat Guna Lahan di Berastagi, Kabupaten Karo

Abstract

Berastagi is an area located in Karo Regency, which has significant tourism potential thanks to the natural beauty of the mountains and its position as a link between Medan City and the Lake Toba priority area. However, the available tourist accommodation has not been able to fully meet the needs of tourists who want comfort and an experience of being one with nature. This research aims to design a hotel and resort with a green architecture approach and appropriate site development principles to support sustainable tourism development. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method through literature study, comparative study of similar projects, and direct observation of the site location. The main result of this research is a hotel and resort design that integrates Berastagi’s natural potential through a green architecture approach and wise land management, the design pays attention to climatic aspects, building orientation, natural air circulation, and open space utilization. In conclusion, the application of appropriate land use principles in the design results in a building that is efficient, environmentally friendly, and provides comfort for users and a positive contribution to the growth of tourism and the local economy in a sustainable manner.
