Peran Kelurahan Tanjung Sari Kota Medan Dalam Meningkatkan Ekonomi Keluarga Miskin Melalui Program Pemberdayaan Perempuan Dalam Upaya Peningkatan Pendapatan Keluarga (UP2K)

Abstract

The UP2K program in Tanjung Sari Subdistrict has been running for approximately 10 years. The problem in this research is that the UP2K program is not running as well as it should be because the subdistrict authorities are unable to organize all programs and activities optimally. The method applied in this research is the descriptive method. The research approach used in this research is a qualitative research approach. The power gathering techniques used are: interviews, observation and documentation studies, as well as using the theory of the main role of the public sector in society by Jones (1993) in Mahsun (2006: 8) regulatory role, enabling role and directing role. From the results of this research, it shows that the UP2K program also has a good impact on increasing the income and welfare of the people receiving aid, although it is not very significant, then the implementation of the UP2K program in Tanjung Sari Subdistrict has so far been right on target, with the hope that it can improve the family economy so that they will have ability to improve health conditions, education and skills, however in its implementation the UP2K program has not run well in Tanjung Sari Village
