Belangke bamboo (Gigantochloa pruriens) can be a promising potential because it has economical properties and a relatively low price compared to other natural materials, especially in wood substitutes. However, the problem with bamboo is that it is easily attacked by destructive organisms, so chemical modification is needed to increase the strength and durability of bamboo. Chemical modification in this study uses a 20% concentration of citric acid solution with the aim of analyzing the physical and mechanical properties of citric acid-modified belangke bamboo at various impregnation pressures and get the best impregnation pressures in improving the quality of belangke bamboo. Belangke bamboo raw materials were impregnated with citric acid and vacuumed for 30 minutes and continued with 30 minutes of pressure variation of 2 bar, 4 bar and 6 bar, then tested for its physical properties, namely density, water content, WPG, water absorption and thickness expansion and its mechanical properties, namely MOE, MOR and compression parallel to the grain. Then the results were analyzed with a Complete Random Design (CRD) Non Factorial. The results of the physical properties study showed an average density value of 0.77-0.87 g/cm3, water content of 6.37-8.21%, WPG of 12.46-16.05%, water absorption of 23.28-39.86%, thickness expansion of 4.35-12.58%. The results of the mechanical properties study showed an average value of flexural strength (MOE) of 214214-363690 kg/cm2, fracture strength (MOR) of 1258-1835 kg/cm2, compression parallel to the grain of 368-531 kg/cm2. The test results showed that impregnation had a significant effect on the value of thickness expansion, MOE, and compression parallel to the grain. The results of the belangke bamboo score showed that the 6 bar pressure treatment was the best test result in improving the physical and mechanical properties of belangke bamboo
