The Effectiveness Of Combination Of Animated Video Media And Lectures Using Power Point On Pornography Addiction Behavior Among Teenagers At MAN 2 Model Medan
Abstract
The behavior of pornography addiction in the digital era, especially among teenagers, has become a concerning phenomenon. Indonesia is one of the countries in the 4th rank all over the world because it has the highest incidence of pornography addiction. Teenagers are the main target of pornography distribution, making them vulnerable to pornography addiction behavior. Also, it was found that education about the dangers of pornography addiction was still rarely carried out in the research location at MAN 2 Model Medan. Therefore, preventing
pornography addiction behavior is essential. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of combination animated video media and lectures using power point to change the behavior (knowledge, attitudes, and actions) of teenagers toward pornography addiction at MAN 2 Model Medan. This study uses the pre–experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design, involving 90 mixed
students from grades X and XI selected through simple random sampling. Data analysis using oneway anova shows that the combination method of animated video media and lectures using power point is the most effective for the knowledge variable with p-value of 0.002; α < 0.005. Meanwhile, all three methods have the same effectiveness on the attitude and action variables with p-value of 0.112; α > 0.005 for the attitude variable, and a p-value of 0.088; α > 0.005 for the action variable. Based on the Stimulus–Organism–Response (SOR) theory, the combination of animated video media and lectures using power point acts as a
stimulus, which then responds with knowledge, attitudes, and actions related to pornography addiction. It is recommended that schools regularly provide education on pornography addiction behavior, parents monitor their children’s association on society more, students learn to prevent pornography addiction behavior, and further research is conducted to gain a deeper understanding of how to prevent pornography addiction behavior in teenagers.
