Lecturers have a strategic role in the quality of education, research and accreditation.
The quality of higher education is greatly influenced by the capabilities of lecturers. Pre
survey analysis shows that the Information Systems and Informatics Engineering study
programs at STMIK Kaputama Binjai still face limitations in the number of permanent
lecturers, academic qualifications and scientific publications, so a lecturer development
strategy is needed to achieve superior accreditation. The purpose of this study is to
identify and formulate a lecturer development strategy, by identifying external and
internal factors to improve capabilities at STMIK Kaputama Binjai towards superior
accreditation. This study uses interview and literature study methods to formulate this
development strategy. The results of this study obtained IFE and EFE values of 3.14
which indicate the position of the institution is in quadrant one (Grow and Build) and
focuses on development and growth strategies. The main recommended strategy is to
carry out periodic lecturer capability development, improve literacy skills in the field of
AI and collaborate by building collaboration with stakeholders. With this strategy, it is
hoped that STMIK Kaputama can continue to develop as an educational institution that
is superior, professional, and adaptive to changes in technology and the needs of the
industrial world.
