    Abstract
Corn is a widely cultivated commodity in Munte District. Increased production is thought to be possible by combining the use of inorganic fertilizer with organic fertilizer. This study aims to obtain the optimum dose of Nitrogen fertilizer, the optimum dose of chicken manure and the combined dose of Nitrogen fertilizer and chicken manure. This research was conducted in Singgamanik Village, Munte District, Karo Regency at an altitude of ± 1,046 masl. Analysis of soil, chicken manure and plants was conducted at the North Sumatra Agricultural Instrument Standardisation Agency (BSIP). This research was conducted from December 2024 to April 2025. This study used a Randomised Group Design with 2 treatment factors and 2 blocks. The first factor is Nitrogen fertilizer with 5 treatment levels namely 0, 75, 150, 225, 300 kg/ha and chicken manure with 4 treatment levels namely 0, 1,5, 3,0, 4,5 tons/ha. The research parameters included shoot dry weight, root dry weight, Nitrogen nutrient uptake, weight of cob with cob, weight of cob without cob and weight of seeds per cob/plant. The results showed that Nitrogen fertiliser increased shoot dry weight, Nitrogen nutrient uptake, weight of cob with cob, weight of cob without cob and weight of seeds per cob/plant with the optimum dose of Nitrogen fertilizer 251.66 kg/ha. Chicken manure did not significantly increase the growth and production of corn plants. The interaction between Nitrogen fertilizer and chicken manure did not significantly increase the growth and production of corn plants.
