Cryopreservation, a technique involving storage at low temperatures, is one of the aquaculture technologies that has been extensively developed to prolong the viability of gametes. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of honey extender combined with glycerol on the motility and viability of spermatozoa in Tawes fish (Barbonymus gonionotus) after cryopreservation. The research was conducted from March to April 2025. A total of 2 ml of sperm was used, with the addition of 100 ml of Ringer’s solution as the extender and glycerol as a cryoprotectant. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was applied with five treatments of glycerol concentrations (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%) and three replications for each treatment. The results showed that the addition of honey extender with different concentrations of glycerol had a significant effect on the motility and viability of spermatozoa (p < 0.05). The treatment with 10% glycerol concentration (P2) resulted in the highest motility (60.66%) and viability (81%), significantly different from the other treatments.
