dc.description.abstractThis study, titled “Analysis of Digital Media Literacy on Deepfake Content Among Communication Science Students at FISIP USU (2021–2022 Cohort)”, aims to assess the level of students’ digital literacy in recognizing and responding to deepfake content. The research is grounded in Wardle & Derakhshan’s Information Disorder theory and the four pillars of digital literacy as outlined by Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo). A quantitative descriptive approach was used with 70 respondents selected through stratified proportional sampling. The findings indicate that students demonstrate a high level of digital literacy, with average scores of 4.15 in Digital Ethics, 4.03 in Digital Safety, 3.77 in Digital Skill, and 3.52 in Digital Culture. While students exhibit strong ethical awareness and data protection behaviors, gaps remain in technical competencies such as content verification and public digital participation. The study concludes that students have a solid digital literacy foundation, yet require further practical training to enhance their critical thinking and responsible engagement in digital environments.en_US
