Revitalization PT KAI DIVRE Medan

Abstract

Medan is one of the cities that is very rich in historical buildings and has a highhistory,Medan is also one of the cities that inherited many former Dutch colonial buildings that have high architectural value. However, in the midst of the rapid development of time and times, many new buildings have emerged that cover the value and beauty of heritage buildings so that people are less familiar with the history and importance of Medan's urban growth, making this building only a silent witness to a history. Medan only has a few tourist destinations, therefore the Revitalization Design of the Heritage Building with the addition of a new function, namely the Railway Museum with the concept approach of Juxtaposition and Architecture Regional which creates a synergy of harmony between old and new buildings, is expected to make this heritage building a tourist destination so as to increase the value and identity of the heritage building without destroying the historical character of the building. This study is expected to provide guidelines for revitalizing heritage buildings in Medan optimally to create a visual and functional balance. This study is also expected to maintain other heritage identities through the addition of functions that are relevant to the needs of today's society, and also as a guide to maintain, preserve, and utilize historical heritage in Medan on an ongoing basis.
