Design and Implementation of Fast Food Drink Machines Using Iot-Based Coins
Abstract
This study aims to design and implement fast food drink machines that use coin
based payment systems and Internet of Things (IoT) technology. This machine is
designed to facilitate the process of purchasing drinks such as coffee and tea
automatically. In this system, users only need to insert coins according to the
specified price, then select the type of drink they want via a touch screen interface.
This system is equipped with a coin acceptor that can verify and distinguish the type
of coin inserted, as well as an ESP8266 module for Wi-Fi connectivity that allows
real-time monitoring of machine status, including drink stock and number of
transactions. The drink-making process begins after payment is verified, where
water is heated using a heater and channeled into the cup with the help of a water
pump. The results of this study indicate that IoT-based fast food drink machines can
increase efficiency in serving drinks, reduce dependence on human operators, and
provide convenience for users in getting drinks without having to queue. This
research is expected to contribute to the development of vending machine
technology in Indonesia.
