dc.description.abstractThis study investigates the utilization of rattan bio-fiber and rattan bio-textile as reinforcement materials in Engineered Cementitious Composite (ECC) to enhance the flexural capacity of concrete beams. The research methodology includes the fabrication of normal concrete beams coated with ECC mortar, varying in thickness and incorporating either rattan bio-fiber or rattan bio-textile. Subsequently, compressive strength tests, tensile strength tests on rattan strips, and flexural strength tests on the beams were conducted. The results indicate that the addition of rattan bio-fiber ECC and rattan bio-textile ECC significantly improves the flexural capacity of concrete beams compared to beams without ECC coating. The greatest enhancement was observed in beams coated with 4 cm thick rattan bio-textile ECC. Moreover, the use of these materials in ECC contributed to a more uniform crack pattern and increased the ductility of the concrete beams. These findings recommend rattan bio-fiber and rattan bio-textile as environmentally friendly alternative materials for improving the structural performance of concrete, particularly its flexural capacity.en_US
