Abstract
Community adaptation to climate change is needed to determine the design of community adaptation actions in an effort to deal with climate change. In addition, mitigation is also needed to determine what actions can be taken to prevent a disaster caused by climate change. This study aims to analyze the adaptation of the Forest Farmer Group (KTH) Penghijauan Maju Bersama in mitigating climate change in Pasar Rawa Village, Langkat Regency. This study is motivated by the importance of adaptation and mitigation in dealing with the impacts of climate change, as well as the role of KTH in managing mangrove forests. Data were collected through a census method on 23 members of KTH Penghijauan Maju Bersama, then analyzed using a SWOT analysis to identify internal and external factors that influence KTH adaptation. The results of the study are expected to provide information on effective adaptation steps in dealing with climate change, especially in the mangrove ecosystem. Based on the SWOT analysis, KTH Penghijauan Maju Bersama has great potential in managing mangrove forests for climate change mitigation by utilizing strengths such as member activity and the vastness of mangrove forests, as well as opportunities such as ecotourism and cooperation with Peat and Mangrove Restoration Agency, although facing challenges such as lack of climate information and the threat of over-exploitation, so aggressive strategies are needed such as strengthening partnerships, developing ecotourism, and increasing community capacity
