dc.description.abstractEducation is a crucial aspect of sustainable development, as outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, Indonesia faces significant challenges in improving students' literacy, numeracy, and science skills, highlighted by a decline in the 2022 Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) scores. Non-formal education has emerged as a potential solution to address the shortcomings of conventional learning methods still prevalent in formal schools. In Pematangsiantar City, North Sumatra, Sekolah Alam Sopo Safari Nusantara is a non-formal education institution offering a more flexible learning approach tailored to students' needs. Nevertheless, the school has difficulties providing adequate infrastructure and has not been designed inclusively in line with its vision and mission. To address these issues, a redesign was undertaken using a Low-Cost Architecture approach that employs low-cost, local, and recycled materials. This approach was chosen to navigate budget constraints, support the local economy, and create a comfortable and sustainable learning environment.en_US
