Pembangunan Kembali Kantor Gubernur Sumatera Utara Untuk Memperkuat Identitasnya (Bekas Kantor Proefstation Deli) Sebagai Warisan Budaya Melalui Pendekatan Jukstaposisi
Redevelopment Of The North Sumatra Governor’s Office To Strengthen Its Identity (Former Deli Proefstation Office) As A Cultural Heritage Through A Juxtaposition Approach
Abstract
Indonesia has a lot of cultural heritage but many of these cultural heritages are not maintained, neglected, and even destroyed, this is due to the lack of preservation of cultural heritage. In UURI No. 11 of 2010, it is written about the maintenance of cultural heritage such as conservation, reconstruction, preservation, adaptation, restoration, demolition. But in the implementation of this, there are many obstacles and barriers such as maintenance costs that are quite expensive so that owners prefer to build new buildings by destroying their cultural heritage. To overcome this, there are solutions as problem solvers that can be applied in the preservation of cultural heritage in order to survive. Redevelopment can be a solution to this where the North Sumatra Governor's Office will be developed by building a new design to give identity to interrelated cultural heritage and a juxtaposition approach to combine new architectural elements with old elements without damaging them. In Indonesia itself there are no buildings that apply this, especially in historic areas. This can be a solution/input by introducing to historians, government, and the public that redevelopment and juxtaposition can be applied to historic areas where this method has proven successful in the case of historic buildings such as dance houses and several other historic buildings abroad that can be preserved.
