This study examines the role of Program Magang dan Studi Independen Bersertifikat (MSIB) in developing the language-related soft skills of Communication Science students at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara. The research focuses on four language skills based on Tarigan's theory: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, data were collected through interviews with MSIB participants and triangulated with input from lecturers and mentors. The findings indicate that the Certified Internship and Independent Study Program (MSIB) contributes significantly to the development of participants' soft skills, including their language skills, which improved in professional settings through better listening, reading, writing, and speaking abilities.en_US
