Resor Sijornih: Perancangan Resor di Kawasan Air Terjun Aek Sijornih Berbasis Pelestarian Alam
Abstract
The natural and cultural potential of South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province—particularly the Aek Sijorni Waterfall area—is a strategic asset that requires preservation efforts through sustainable protection and development. Although the number of visitors increased from 85,621 in 2020 to 89,058 in 2022, issues related to facilities and visitor comfort remain a major challenge. This study aims to design a nature-based resort that enhances the visitor experience while preserving local cultural diversity and promoting the economic growth of the surrounding community. The research methods include literature studies, field surveys, and case study analyses of similar destinations. The resulting design is expected to offer a solution that aligns with the environmental context and tourist needs while strengthening economic empowerment and local wisdom.
