Formulasi Dan Karakterisasi Sediaan Essence Kitosan Pada Sheet Mask Sebagai Antibakteri Propionibacterium Acnes
Formulations And Characterizations Of Chitosan Essence In Sheet Mask As Anti-Bacterial Propionibacterium Acnes
Abstract
Research has been carried out on the use of chitosan in the formulation of a essence sheet mask as an antibacterial. Sheet masks are one of the cosmetics that are widely used by consumers because they contain essence which can be applied practically and can be carried anywhere without rinsing after use. Essence made with the addition of chitosan can improve the quality of the essence as an antibacterial. Antibacterial activity testing was carried out on gram-positive bacteria Propionibacterium acnes to see the efective concentration of chitosan from the three types of chitosan concentration, namely 0,5%, 1%, and 1,5%. The process of making chitosan essence use experimental methods and characterization is carried out using parameters in the form of homogeneity, pH, viscosity, irritation, and antibacterial. The best essence is with the addition of 1,5% chitosan. The result of the evaluation of essence 0,5%, 1%, and 1,5% during 10 weeks of storaged showed that the pH value of the essence by the skin pH requirements and showed no change in aroma, color, and texture during storage at room temperature. The viscosity value tends to be stable. The antibacterial activity test was the widest clear zone diameter with addition of 1,5% chitosan, which was 12,43 mm.
