E-Voting Information System for Regional Head Election: A Case Study of the Simalungun Regency Election Based on a Website
Abstract
Elections are a vital process in a democratic system; however, conventional methods often face various challenges such as delayed vote counting, data manipulation, and low voter participation. To address these issues, this final project designs and develops a web-based E-Voting Information System for the Simalungun Regency Election. The system is designed to facilitate the election process electronically by prioritizing accessibility, transparency, and data security. The development process follows the Waterfall method, which consists of requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance stages. The technologies used include PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The result of this research is an e-voting website that enables voters to participate in the election online, featuring a responsive user interface and an automatic vote counting system. It is expected that this system will improve efficiency and enhance public trust in the election process in Simalungun Regency.
