An analysis has been conducted to determine the calcium content by the permanganometric titration method in fish meal using a standard solution of potassium permanganate (KMnO4) 0,02 M at the Laboratory of PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia. In this study, a destruction process was carried out first to remove organic materials contained in the sample. A total of 1 gram of fish meal was ashed, then continued with destruction using HNO3(aq) and HCL(aq). This process aims to dissolve compounds that are insoluble in HCl(aq) while releasing nitro gas. After destruction, the calcium content was determined by the permanganometric titration method using potassium permanganate (KMnO4) 0,02 M. The results of the study showed that the calcium content in fish meal was 6,52%; 6,40%; 6,42%; 6,30%; 6,68%; 6,27%; and 6,38%, respectively. The data shows that the calcium content in fish meal has met the quality standards set by Laboratory PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia which is 6.20%-6.95%.
