Background: The development of digital technology offers significant opportunities for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), including laundry businesses, to enhance visibility and competitiveness through digital platforms. However, many MSMEs still face challenges in adopting digital technology due to limited knowledge and resources, particularly in user interface and user experience design.
Objective: This study aims to design the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) of a web- and mobile-based digital application for MSME laundry businesses by utilizing a microinteractions approach to improve customer visibility and user engagement.
Method: This study adopts the Design Thinking methodology, which consists of five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Data collection was conducted through interviews and user observations, followed by the development of wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using tools such as Figma.
Results: The design results indicate that the developed application provides an intuitive, responsive, and consistent design across platforms. The application of microinteractions successfully delivers interactive visual feedback, improving user retention and comfort.
Conclusion: This digital application provides an effective solution to help MSME laundry businesses expand their market reach, increase customer engagement, and remain competitive in the digital era. In addition, this study offers practical and theoretical contributions to the development of UI/UX design for MSMEs.
