Pengaruh Keterlibatan Dalam Organisasi dan Kepanitiaan Terhadap Prestasi Akademik Mahasiswa Fakultas Vokasi USU

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of student involvement in organizations and committees on the academic performance of students at the Vocational Faculty of the University of North Sumatra. The research employs a quantitative approach with an associative method. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 active students involved in organizational and committee activities. The independent variables in this study are involvement in organizations and committees, while the dependent variable is academic performance measured by Grade Point Average (GPA). Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 27. The results show that partially, both organizational and committee involvement have a significant influence on academic performance. Simultaneously, these two variables have a very strong relationship with GPA, indicated by a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.954 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.909. This means that 90.9% of the variation in GPA can be explained by student involvement in organizational and committee activities, while the remaining 9.1% is influenced by other factors outside this model. Thus, involvement in organizational and committee activities has a positive, strong, and statistically significant impact on students' academic performance.
