Abstract
Musculoskeletal Disorders are one of the main health problems in weavers caused by static body positions and repetitive movements when using Non-Machine Looms (ATBM). Workplace Stretching Exercise and McKenzie Exercise are stretching exercises that can be done in the workplace to prevent MSDs complaints and repetitive work-related diseases. This study aims to analyze the effect of Workplace Stretching Exercise and McKenzie Exercise in reducing MSDs complaints in weavers at the Ulos Sianipar Gallery. This study used a true experiment design with a pretest-posttest with control group approach. There are three stages of research: pretest to measure MSDs complaints using the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire, intervention with Workplace Stretching Exercise and McKenzie Exercise, and posttest to measure changes in MSDs complaints. Sampling using purposive sampling technique with a total sample of 60 weavers divided into three groups (WSE, McKenzie, and control), without obesity body mass index and treated for 12 sessions in 4 weeks. The results showed that MSDs complaints in the Workplace Stretching Exercise and McKenzie Exercise groups decreased significantly with a p-value of 0.000 < 0,05, yang menunjukkan adanya pengaruh kedua intervensi terhadap pengurangan MSDs. Sementara itu, kelompok kontrol tidak menunjukkan perubahan yang signifikan (p-value > 0.05). In addition, comparison between groups A (WSE), B (McKenzie), and C (control) showed that Workplace Stretching Exercise is more effective in reducing MSDs complaints compared to McKenzie, with a p-value of 0.000 <0.05. It is expected that weavers routinely perform Workplace Stretching Exercise to prevent MSDs complaints, and that Ulos Sianipar Gallery considers the implementation of the WSE program to maintain weaver health.
