The issue of low tourist satisfaction due to inadequate facilities and infrastructure at tourist destinations should be a concern for local governments. A thorough evaluation of the available amenities is needed to support visitor comfort. The Department of Tourism of Humbang Hasundutan Regency plays a vital role in improving the quality of facilities and infrastructure to ensure tourist satisfaction and maintain the sustainability of the Geosite Sipinsur tourist destination. The purpose of this study is to describe the level of tourist satisfaction with the provision of facilities and infrastructure at Geosite Sipinsur.
This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The study was conducted at Geosite Sipinsur, located in Pearung Village, Paranginan District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency. Informants were selected through purposive sampling, involving tourists, managers, and other relevant parties. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation, and documentation.
The results show that tourist satisfaction is influenced by the quality of facilities such as toilets, seating areas, directional signs, and trash bins, which are still considered inadequate. This dissatisfaction affects tourists’ perceptions of destination management. However, the intention to revisit remains high due to the breathtaking natural scenery and the cool atmosphere around Lake Toba. The management system of facilities at Geosite Sipinsur requires improvements in cleanliness, comfort, and the provision of destination information to enhance overall tourist satisfaction. The local government, through the Tourism Office, needs to formulate appropriate strategies, strengthen supervision, and improve existing facilities and infrastructure.
