dc.description.abstractThis study is entitled Alternative Rock Music in Emotional Expression Roland Barthes Semiotic Analysis of the Song "Creep" by Radiohead. This study aims to analyze the expression of emotion in alternative rock music through Roland Barthes' semiotic approach, focusing on the song "Creep" by Radiohead. This song is widely known for its lyrics that describe feelings of alienation and inadequacy, which are central themes in many alternative rock music works. Through denotative, connotative and myth analysis, this study explores how signs in the lyrics and musical elements contribute to deeper meaning. Using Roland Barthes' theory, this study shows that the meaning of a song lies not only in the words and melody, but also in the social and cultural context that surrounds it. The results of the analysisreveal that "Creep" Functions as a medium to express complex emotional experiences, creating a dialogue about alienation and the search for identity among its listeners.en_US
