Pengaruh Pemberian Pupuk Organik Cair Berbasis Urin Kelinci Terhadap Respon Pertumbuhan Rumput Pakchong
The Effect of Rabbit Urine-Based Liquid Organic Fertilizer on the Growth Response of Pakchong Grass
Abstract
Animal feed is the main source for the survival of ruminant livestock. Often the needs of livestock in Indonesia are not met properly and correctly. The use of chemical fertilizers that are often used causes damage to the soil so that this study uses liquid organic fertilizer from rabbit urin which is applied to pakchong grass which aims to determine the effect of providing liquid organic fertilizer based on rabbit urin on the growth of pakchong grass including plant height, length of internodes, length of leaves, width of leaves, number of leaves and fresh production. This research was conducted at the Experimental Field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra. The research process begins with the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizer based on rabbit urin. Furthermore, soil processing is carried out by cleaning the land to be used. After that, pakchong grass is planted which is then maintained for 60 days by giving fertilizer and watering regularly. After the maintenance period is complete, harvesting and measurements are carried out on various parameters studied. In terms of plant height growth, the P2 treatment with a dose of 60 ml/polybag showed significant results compared to other treatments. The use of liquid fertilizer with the right concentration supports optimal plant growth by accelerating the process of cell division and elongation. However, the P0 treatment (control without nutrients) and the P1 treatment (30 ml/polybag) showed less than optimal growth, while the P3 (90 ml/polybag) and P4 (120 ml/polybag) treatments showed decreased growth due to nutrient doses that were too high. Overall, the use of liquid organic fertilizer made from rabbit urin with a dose of 60 ml/polybag gave the best results in increasing the growth and production of pakchong grass, in accordance with the established quality standards for liquid organic fertilizers. However, further research is needed to gain a deeper understanding of the effect of this fertilizer on other aspects of plant growth.
