Segmentasi Kabupaten/Kota di Sumatera Utara Berdasarkan Produksi Padi dan Beras Menggunakan Metode K-Means Clustering Tahun 2024
Segmentation of Districts/Cities in North Sumatera Based on Rice Production and Rice Using K-Means Clustering Method in 2024
Abstract
Rice is a major food commodity that plays an important role in supporting national food security. North Sumatra Province is one of the centers of rice and rice production in Indonesia, but the level of production still shows inequality between districts/cities. This study aims to Cluster districts/cities in North Sumatra Province based on rice and rice production characteristics using the K-Means Clustering method. The variables used in the analysis include rice paddy production, rice production, harvested land area, and productivity. The data used is secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of North Sumatra Province. All variables were analyzed after going through a standardization process using the Z-score method. The clustering results showed the formation of two main clusters. The first cluster consists of 29 districts/cities with production and productivity levels below the provincial average. The second cluster includes 3 districts/municipalities, namely Simalungun, Deli Serdang, and Serdang Bedagai, which have high agricultural performance, particularly in terms of paddy and rice production. Based on the ANOVA test, all variables showed significant differences between clusters (p-value <0.05), with paddy and rice production as the most influential variable with an F value of 89.648 with a significant value of 0.000. This research is expected to be a reference in the formulation of more effective and data-based agricultural development policies in North Sumatra Province.
